Kölsch & The Machine

Danish DJ and producer Kölsch released his new album KINEMA last year, alongside a new live show titled “Kölsch and the Machine”, premiering at Amsterdam Dance Event before touring across Europe.

The project marks a new chapter in his career. While his previous albums focused on personal memories, KINEMA transforms these emotions into movement and a cinematic, story-driven musical journey. The title, derived from the Greek word for “movement,” reflects both the dynamic nature of the music and its live performance.

The album consists of ten tracks, each acting like a scene within a larger narrative, balancing intimate, emotional moments with powerful club-oriented energy. It moves between dreamy, reflective compositions and energetic dancefloor tracks, ultimately portraying the highs and lows of life.

Musically, KINEMA showcases Kölsch’s range: from soft, atmospheric openings and nostalgic piano-driven pieces to orchestral elements, collaborations, and uplifting electronic tracks. The album closes on a more stripped-back, emotional note, emphasizing honesty and vulnerability.

Alongside the album, the live show is designed as a modular, analog-driven performance that reinterprets both new material and key moments from his catalog, reconnecting him with his musical roots.

Overall, KINEMA highlights Kölsch’s ability to blend deeply personal emotion with universal, communal experiences, creating a cohesive and immersive listening journey.
