Kampai
Kampai is the solo project of Bengaluru-based DJ, artist, and curator Rumit Virmani, known for his borderless sets that span Afro House, Global Bass, Baile Funk, UK Garage, DnB, and more. With a deep understanding of the dance floor and a global ear, his high-energy performances bring communities together through rhythm and movement — and he remains one of the few electronic acts in the country with the instinct and range to take a dance floor from empty to packed. A mainstay in the Indian scene, Kampai has performed at festivals including VH1 Supersonic and NH7 Weekender, and recently opened for &ME. Internationally, he’s toured across Australia—opening for Yung Singh—along with appearances in Southeast Asia and Nepal. Having his sets streamed globally via Mixmag and the upcoming Boiler Room is a major accolade, marking him out as one of the region’s rising electronic talents. As the co-founder of SoMAD Fest, Kampai plays a key tastemaker role, curating talent and experiences that reflect his forward-thinking ethos; cementing his place in shaping the future of India’s electronic music culture.
